The pointy-nosed blue chimaera is also known as ray troll's chimaera or the abyssal ghostshark. Whatever common name you want to call it, rest assured the scientific name never changes: Hydrolagus trolli.
The sicklefin houndshark (Hemitriakis falcate) is a slender, dusky coloured shark who can reach at least 80 cm in length. Sexes mature at 65-70 cm, and pups are born at 20-25 cm in length.
The large spine velvet dogfish (Centroscymnus macracanthus) belongs to the Somniosidae family and can reach up to 68 cm in length. They are dark brown or blackish in coloration, and have rather large fin spines (hence the common name) in front of their dorsal fins.
