We're going to say it straight out of the gate: The Queensland deepwater skate (Dipturus queenslandicus) is a problematic skate possibly involving two similar species. Like many deep water skates, essentially nothing is known of its ecology or life history. TFUI could not obtain a photo of this animal.
The whitetip reef shark (Triaenodon obesus) is a requiem shark in the Carcharhinidae family with a widespread distribution in tropical and subtropical Indian and Pacific Oceans. #Finfact: They are the only member of its genus!
The Shortspine Chimaera (Chimaera obscura) is a deep-sea chimaera found at 1,025-1,080 metres deep on the continental slope off New South Wales (Australia). The full extent of its range is unknown.
